Ambling around sun-kissed beaches, lazing in shacks, partying at nightclubs and trying one’s luck at casinos – that’s what a holiday in Miami usually entails. But if you’re an avid explorer and call yourself a true traveller, you won’t be satisfied with just that. Dig a little deeper and explore some of its other enthralling attractions to feel the beating pulse of the Magic City. We can suggest four such places.

Miami Science Museum
If you’re here with your family, Miami Science Museum is a must visit place. The museum is home to a variety of exhibits that offer great learning experiences to both kids and adults. Some of the museum’s popular exhibits include the Reclamation Project, Immersion Theatre, Newton’s Notions and 40 Tons of Coral in New York City. The Miami Planetarium and the Weintraub Observatory are also part of the museum.

Everglades National Park
With over 1.5 million acres of swamps, grasslands and sub-tropical forests, this beautiful park is located on the southern tip of Florida, and offers a mesmeric jungle experience. Come here to spot many endangered species of birds, plants and animals, including the American Crocodile, the Florida Panther and the West Indian Manatee. The natural wonderland also offers opportunities for various outdoor adventures such as trekking, camping and canoeing.

A Walk Down the Ocean Drive
Travellers say that the best way to experience Miami’s pulsating culture is to stroll down the Ocean Drive. The street runs along the southern tip of Miami Beach, and boasts beautifully decorated hotels, vibrant nightclubs and an array of dining and entertainment venues. Take in the views of its distinct art deco buildings, dine at an upscale rooftop restaurant or grab a cocktail at some trendy bar – there is a lot to keep you happily occupied.

South Pointe Park and Pier
Chill out at the water park, enjoy cycling around the scenic landscapes, or just sit and watch both cruise ships and smaller yachts come and go – South Pointe is an ideal place to spend delightful moments with family and friends. Located at the southernmost tip of Miami Beach, the park remains open till 10 p.m. every day. The grassy areas and playgrounds here make it a great spot for picnicking with kids.
