While Dubai is an all-year round destination, March is the time when the golden sand desert, islands, palm trees, beaches, architectural buildings and all things here become alive in the…
One of the things that makes Dubai such a popular holiday destination is the gorgeous sunny climate, which can be extremely appealing after a few gloomy months in Britain. But even Dubai can have an off day when it comes to the weather. Sometimes it’s incredibly hot and you might be more comfortable spending the day indoors, and during the region’s short winter it can occasionally rain – although nowhere near as much as it would on an average week in London.
Fun indoor places in Dubai
When the weather puts you off being outside, there are plenty of indoor attractions in Dubai. Here’s some of our favourite indoor places for you to enjoy during your trip:
Take a trip to the mall
When you want to combine Dubai indoor attractions and shopping, then it is time to visit one of the many malls such as the Mall of the Emirates, Souk Madinat Jumeriah, and the Dubai Mall, which is the world’s largest shopping destination with 1200 shopping outlets. It’s free to wander and suitable for any weather. During the hot season, the malls are air-conditioned so Dubai’s world-famous shopping can be enjoyed in climate-controlled comfort.
Go to an Aquarium
Another one of the things to do indoors in Dubai is to visit the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. This is an opportunity to see an incredible variety of sea creatures and the weather outside is totally irrelevant. Linked to the Atlantic Water Park at Palm Jumeirah, if you have a taste for creatures of the deep, then the Lost Chambers Aquarium should be another stop on your Dubai indoor itinerary. If you’re interested in horticulture and conservation, then a visit to The Green Planet to see a rain forest plus a wonderful selection of birds, plants and animals all in a huge dome is a must.
Visit the indoor ski park
If you want to go skiing in the desert, you might want to try the indoor ski park, Ski Dubai. Not only is it the third-largest attraction of its type in the world, but there are also ski lifts to take you around and areas for different types of ski activity such as freestyle.
Take in the stunning skyline
Even in the rain or on an exceptionally warm day, you can still see the spectacular Dubai skyline from one of the observation decks or restaurants around the city. Go up the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, or make a trip to The Observatory bar at the Dubai Marriott Hotel.
Dubai holidays that create lifetime memories
Other indoor attractions include going to one of Dubai’s many excellent restaurants where you can linger over a delicious meal and try new cuisines. Take a trip to the Dubai Butterfly Garden, visit the Museum of Illusions, or even go to the Dubai Museum and Al Fahidi Fort. Whatever you’re looking for, there really is something for everyone.
If the weather changes and you want to spend your time outdoors, there are so many incredible things to do in Dubai during your trip, including lots of free attractions and even phenomenal bucket list activities for you to experience.
