Negombo

Situated north of the capital city Colombo, Negombo is situated on the waterfront. One of its most prominent features is a fort built in the 17th century. Another very important attraction here is the church built here in the colonial era. St. Mary’s Church, built in the year 1920, is one of the finest examples of neoclassical architecture complete with religious paintings and decorated ceilings.

 

Kandy

Situated in central Sri Lanka, Kandy is home to a massive rainforest. There are tea plantations surrounding central Kandy and there are several places you can visit here such as Kandy Lake, Royal Botanical Gardens, and Uddawattakele Forest Reserve. One of the most beautiful cities in the country, you can rely on this place to offer you many memories for your life.

 

Dambulla

Situated in Matale district in Central Sri Lanka, Dambulla is home to beautiful ancient cave temples. The Minneriya National Park, Pidurangala Rock and Dambulla Cave Temple are some of the highlights of this place.

 

Galle

Mostly known for its famous Galle Fort, this place was created as a result of early Portugal colonization. People visit here from different parts of the world to look at the impressive stone sea walls and several other constructions from the 18th century. The Galle Fort, Galle Lighthouse, Historical Mansion Museum and the Unawatuna Beach are some of the most amazing places you can visit here.

 

Sigiriya

If you’re a fan of ancient ruins and rock fortresses, you’ve come to the right place. Sigiriya is absolutely beautiful with its old sculptures and constructions, which reveal the history of this place. Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Pidurangala Rock and Sigiriya Museum are some of the top tourist attractions of the place.

Dominated by the seafood, the local Sri Lankan cuisine is absolutely delicious and you must surely try it. The sour fish curry, Kottu Roti, Dhal Curry, Hoppers, Lamprais and so on are some of the best dishes you can try in different towns of the country.
