Even though it may in the public eye for the wrong reasons at times, there is no denying the fact that Pakistan is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and taking a holiday here, will be a very rewarding experience.
The ruins of Taxilla
This is a sight to behold. It is an entire city of ancient times that has been the origin for different civilisations later on. There are a number of interesting things to see here. There are Neolithic tombs and Buddhist stuppas here that you can see and admire. There are also remnants of what is supposed to be the world’s first university: Takshashila. You can also see ruins from the early Harappan civilization that is as old as 2900 BC.
Makli Hill
This is a huge place where there are several tombs, most beautifully preserved; so much so that it looks like a monument rather than a place where people rest in peace. In this expanse, it is said that around 120,000 people are buried. These ornate stone tombs are the final resting place for a lot of kings, queens, scholars and a number of other people.
Hingol National Park
This is situated in Baluchistan in the south-western part of the country. Here you can see the Princess of Hope, which is a very human-like rock formation on the top of the mountain. Besides, there is the Sphinx of Giza “lookalike” that is most impressive. Moreover, you can spot animals such as Urials, Gazelles, Ibex and a number of other species of desert animals.
Badshahi Mosque
One of the largest mosques in the world, it has a capacity of holding as many as a 100,000 worshippers. In the past it was mostly used as a military base. People from across the world visit Pakistan to see the glorious architecture of this famous mosque.
Hiran Minar
This was created by Emperor Jahangir in memory of his beloved pet deer. The Hiran Minar is a 100ft tall and tourists visit here from different parts of the country as well as across the world. It is said that the emperor was heartbroken at the loss of his favourite pet and wanted to immortalize their bond forever.
Mohenjo daro
This famous place is the oldest civilization in the world. Its sewage plans, baths and so on were all well developed for its time. You will see ancient style of building, infused with engineering way ahead of its time.
