Rochester Falls

Located in Savanne, these beautiful falls are very famous and happen to be the widest falls in Mauritius. They stand at a height of 152 metres above sea level and are located at around 2.5 kms from Souillac, which is the capital of Savanne. You can make a day trip out of it, relax here with your friends and family, or take a dip in the clear waters!

 

Mare Aux Vacaos

It is located in Plaines Wilhems which is in the southwest part of the island, near Curepipe. This is the largest reservoir in Mauritius and is indeed a beautiful sight. No wonder, tourists from across the world visit this site.

Le Morne Brabant

This peninsula, located at the extreme south west of the island, is an amazing place to visit. With its picturesque backdrop, perfect weather and a number of hiking trails, this is nothing short of a delight for the nature lovers.

 

Crocodile and Giant Tortoises Park

This is a huge nature park where you can have the extraordinary experience of spotting giant tortoises as well as crocodiles. In this conserved environment you can see these animals in their natural habitat and learn a lot about their behaviour. It is a thrilling experience to be so close to these animals and wonder at the marvellous creations of nature.

 

Trou aux Cerfs

This dormant volcano, which is 605m in height, is located in the Curepipe area of Mauritius. It is about 80 m deep and surrounded by the best hiking trails on the island. You can take a hike to see this natural wonder and make a trip out of it.

 

Jummah Mosque

Jummah Mosque is located in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. Built in the 1850s, it is an architectural wonder which you must visit while on the island. It represents the Muslim faith, which is the predominant religion on the island. Make sure that you wear modest clothes for this visit.

 

Black River Gorges National Park

This is another place where you can enjoy a terrific and scenic hiking experience. The sceneries are unbelievable and the terrains challenging; you will have a great time in this 67.54kms area, where you can find the best of flora and fauna preserved in their natural habitat.
