Kovalam Beach

Kovalam Beach is a globally renowned beach with shallow waters and low tidal waves. Since the 1930s, it has become a hot draw, especially for foreign tourists. One may enjoy a number of activities such as swimming, sunbathing, herbal body toning massages, and catamaran cruising. Kovalam is home to several luxury and budget hotels that ensure many memorable moments.

Marari Beach 

Believed to be one of the finest beaches of the region, the Marari Beach is a place where you can find the simplicity of traditional life. Local fishermen in colourful wooden boats go out to the sea to catch fish for the day and return when they have an abundant catch. Coconut trees line the shores providing shelter. Cool breezes and magnificent views of the azure sea make the experience all the more mesmeric.

Alleppey Beach

Alleppey, often termed as the ‘Venice of the East, was an important port city in the past. Today, its beach is well-known! There are dense palm groves, a time-honoured lighthouse, and a wonderful garden by the seaside. Families who wish to picnic can visit this spot for a fun experience. You can even bask under the sun for hours without any disturbance. No entrance fee is charged.

Kappad Beach

Kappad Beach – this is where the Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama sailed to and initiated the long socio-political relationship between India and Europe. In fact, many explorers visited Kappad in the quest of India’s wealth and spices. There’s a small stone monument at the Kappad Beach, which symbolises its eventful past.

Shankumugham Beach

Shankumugham Beach has milky white sands, clean waters, and truly photogenic sunsets. Another attraction is Jalakanyaka – a 35 metre long statue of a mermaid. The beach is mostly packed in the weekends and during festivals. There are various hotels and restaurants near the beach.
