Sugar Beach

Sugar Beach was once a parking lot but today it promises travellers an ideal day at the beach. In fact it is rather a famous beach on Lake Ontario, visited by a large number of tourists who come here to relax under pink umbrellas. Wading or swimming in the lake is not allowed but tourists can indulge in a lot of leisure activities on the beachside. During summers, you can enjoy a few film screenings and concerts hosted on the beach.

Manitou Beach

Famed as the “Dead Sea of Canada” due to its high salt content and no outward flow, Manitou Beach is a unique spot to explore. Lying on the shores of Little Manitou Lake, the beach has shallow waters allowing visitors for a natural spa day. The interesting thing about the waters here is that it contains magnesium, iron, potassium, and sulphur, ideal for ailments like skin problems, allergies and aching joints. Also, there’s a dance hall, a mineral spa, a campground and a 9-hole golf course around here.

Crystal Crescent Beach

With three white-sand crescent beaches, Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park is an ideal beach getaway for families as well as couples. You can enjoy boardwalks to the first two beaches and a hike up to Pennant Point while spotting incredible wildlife of the area. The beach is just a 40-minute drive away from Halifax in Nova Scotia and is easily accessible.

Ingonish Beach

Lying along the northeast coast of Cape Breton Island, Ingonish Beach is one of the most scenic spots in Canada, capturing the attention of tourists from far and wide. It is located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park where the rolling green hills are a treat to watch. Besides, the beach offers access to both fresh and salt water, and features a naturally formed rock barrier giving it both an Atlantic Ocean pool and freshwater cove.
