Halong Bay

Close to the Chinese border, Sapa is an old French hill station in Lao Cai Province known for its incredible scenic beauty. The town is surrounded by the craggy Vietnamese mountains including the highest mountain in the country. The slopes of the mountains are famous for their terraced rice paddies drawing visitors with their mesmerising beauty. While the picturesque mountain landscapes are the major draw of Sapa, the town is also noted for the distinct cultures of many tribes including the Hmong, Red Dzao and Phu La ethnic groups.

Ninh Binh

With the most spectacular natural landscapes in Southeast Asia, Ninh Binh, located 58 miles south of Hanoi, ensures a terrific holiday in Vietnam. Here you can take an aluminium rowboat ride paddled by local village women along the peaceful river waterways and marvel at the mountain goats, rugged Karst terrain and lush foliage. Wildlife lovers cannot miss to explore Cuc Phuong National Park, the oldest national park of Vietnam.

Mai Chau

The first town along the beautiful Northwest Loop, Mai Chau draws the attention with its unique culture, towering hills and laid-back atmosphere. At 150 metres above sea level, you can enjoy a stay in an ethnic tilt house and discover waterfalls and caves in the rich, hilly terrain. The town can be explored in a day trip from Hanoi or you can combine your trip to Mai Chau with a visit to some other remote towns of Son La, Moc Chau and Dien Bien Phu.

The Dong Van Plateau

A six-hour drive from Hanoi, the Dong Van Plateau is a mountainous area presenting thrilling experiences for all. The first and the most impressive geological park of Vietnam, it is where visitors can take delight in the beauty of spectacular mountain peaks and explore the rich and unique traditional customs. Situated in Ha Giang Province, this region has some of the most beautiful trekking routes in Vietnam.
